Illusion knitting

This video was posted on facebook by a friend and I think it's brilliant:

Check out the gallery of knitted illusions.

The website it comes from has all kinds of geometrical and mathematical patterns, and has a link to a series of knitted optical illusions, complete with tutorials and patterns you can purchase (a few of them are free). Here is the gallery. It's really worth checking out! From the explanation on the site it seems as though the knitting is done a bit like double knitting, where you knit two levels at the same time, but the illusion is achieved with a combination of those two rows and knitting and purling.

Yes, I will try!!  I'm not going to do the Mona Lisa to start with, or even Elvis, but I'll start with a rather small one and see how it goes. If it goes relatively well, I'll post of video like the one above of my work so you can see how it went. Any suggestions of which one I should attempt?
