I had a crazy, CRAZY day, with a lecture at uni, a meeting at school, a quick dinner and then a group meeting for a uni project. All that while our toddler was sick and needed to stay home. Wednesdays are "Daddy days" as hubby is taking his parental leave one day a week (instead of a few weeks in a row) so yesterday was his normal day to be with our toddler.
Still, though it was "normal" for him to be with her, I did come home (very late) feeling that I was very lucky. I am a student (150% because...well, why not) and I have my internship, and I sub sometimes, and yes, I have my weekly knitting club and I can do all that because hubby takes on a huge amount. Being able to run around town and focus on what I have to do instead of worrying about my toddler is very precious, especially as both teaching and studying require great concentration. I'm very grateful for a "Scandinavian model" system that allows hubby to have so much parental leave, and a hubby who takes his leave seriously and makes the most out of it to be a great dad and a great husband.
