I am thankful for: hot cocoa

During the holidays I was feeling very tired and I stayed in most of the time. Since my toddler needs her daily dose of running around, it was up to my husband to go out and play with he in the snow and race down the little hill on a tiny sled with her on his knees. I saw them from the kitchen window and enjoyed watching them having such a good time, but I really wasn't up to joining them.

Today was a cold and crisp day and we all went out to play in the snow after we had napped and lunched.  I took turns sitting on the tiny sled and held her on my lap or she came down on her own, either way she punctuated each run with a resounding "MERE" (= more). When it was time to go inside I knew there was only one thing to do to make the afternoon even more perfect: make hot cocoa for the entire family.  So she had her first cup and absolutely loved it.  (actually no, she managed to drop the first cup on the floor, so technically I cleaned up the first cup and she enjoyed the second one).

I see in her future a wonderful life of enjoying cups cocoa reminiscing about her childhood afternoons spent  playing in the snow with Mommy and Daddy, and today was the day it all started.

  1. Sounds perfect! And dropping the first cup on the floor is all part of the story.

  2. Ah yes, hot cocoa, I can't believe the little one hadn't been exposed to it yet! Do you have decent cocoa there?

  3. We have ok hot cocoa. It's not as good as the Swiss one of course, but it's ok. And we hadn't had it before because she's not into drinking hot beverages yet. Though that changed yesterday!!
