I am thankful for: a meaninful job and hobby

Today has been truly a full day. I did a full day at school, first planning and then subbing, then came home, finished a knitting project, and then finished putting project evaluations on the school intranet for the students to see. I can't work 100% for an extended period of time, but I can do it once in a while and this week will be one of those times. I'm subbing for a teacher who seems to have an endless number of classes, then doing my own teacher for my internship, and oh yes, I'm still a 150% student...

But it's during days like these that I feel glad that I have a job that I consider meaningful. It's hard work and I will be exhausted by tomorrow and even more when I'm doing with the heavy subbing of the week, but it's worth it. I don't think I make a meaningful contribution to it every time I step into a classroom, but I try, and I'm getting better, and that's what counts.

As for knitting, it's just really something I enjoy doing more and more, and finishing a project just gives me a tiny boost in confindence and a feeling of a job well done. It's an additional bonus when I can wear the knitted item to remind myself of how much fun I had and of what a great job I did (of course in this case it will also constantly remind me of how I messed up the easiest pattern ever printed, but it's ok, it'll be between me and those you can count to 8, which is almost no one).
