I am thankful for: a roaring fire

This evening our little knitting group met at one of the member's place, and as we had done the past few meetings, we knitted in front of a roaring fire. I like everything about sitting next to a fire: the sound, the smell, the sight, the warmth, the memories they now all seem to bring back (we had a fireplace when I was growing up), and the entire ultra-romantic concept of the fireplace. My knitting group meetings are always fun. I love the company and I love being able to share knitting tidbits and ask questions and share my misery and my successes, but I'm particularly thankful for having the meetings by a fire. It's a perfect combination of all that is right in the world when you sit by the fireplace and all the delights of knitting in the company of knitters.

  1. Oo, I do love a fire. I especially love it when the smell of woodsmoke takes you by surprise on a walk outside. I don't think I could trust myself to actually get any knitting done when instead I could just be watching the flames though!

  2. But if you can knit without looking at your needles, you can do both at the same time :-)
