I've been knitting a few hats lately. So I loved this Mythological Man pattern and wanted to knit a girlie one for myself. Here's the result:
Yes, I think it looks great! Actually the instructions say you should knit on straight needles, so I did that, but that meant I had to wait for a friend to sew the hat (thank you thank you). The problem is, the yarn I used was quite a bit thinner than I was supposed to use, so in the end, it'll fit on one of my nieces, it's way too small for me. (But still pretty!!!)
So then I decided to make another one for my brother (this was supposed to be a project for my brother from the beginning but I liked the pattern so much I did one for myself/niece first). I used a yarn which is bamboo and cotton and wonderfully soft and knitted in the round and this is what I got:
It's also a tiny bit small, but hopefully not too small.
And then I decided that hats were so much fun so I have started making children's hats which I will then give away. The first one was severely deformed and will need some major reconstruction (and is therefore not show here) but the second one was quite successful:
As you can see, nothing fancy but hopefully something warm and colourful for a child who needs it. (No, not in Norway, there are almost no children with those kinds of needs. The idea was the ship them to a friend in Romania who will find children who could use them).
