I'm here, I'm here!

So, where have I been you ask? Well, I was away on vacation knitting my secret Christmas present. Now that I'm back and my Christmas present has been delivered, I can show you:

The scarf is called the "Manly Icord" and consists of six cords, two of each colour, measuring 108 inches (2m71) each. Yes, that's 648 inches of icord to knit. What I wouldn't do for my husband!!And the little hat to match the scarf:

Those were my two successes of the vacation. I also had quite a few failures. I abandonned the "mist lace" scarf (though I might come back to it later because it did allow me to learn new stitches and I like the pattern) and instead I'm knitting a scarf using the drop stitch and very funky yarn. The first drop stitch row:

I also started on a top for this summer, but ended up "twisting the yarn" on the circular needles (which means I was knitting a spiral instead of knitting a top...) and had to undo everything. OOOOohhhhhh what a frustrating flight back home that was... And I also knitted the first arm of my jacked, which ended up being too short!! As I don't understand how that happened, I will wait to meet my "teacher" so we can try to figure out what went wrong and, more importantly, how I can fix it.
I also joined Ravelry.com, which is a website all knitters and crocheters should join. You can find patterns, ideas for yarns, fun groups, you can contact other knitters to ask them questions etc. Have been on it regularly and gotten lots and lots of ideas.
Not a very inspired post but I'm running a fever and I'm increasingly worried I will run out of yarn before my drop stitch scarf is a nice length. As Trondheim only has two yarn stores, I might have to order more over the internet. Back to bed!
